The fernicular was out of service. It’s a fair walk up from the bus stop where we started, but doable. Views were great and we had a nice mulled wine in the cafe on a cold winters day. Full review by Minneapolismum

When you get off the funicular, where exactly do you go to get the audio guides? It seems like people have trouble finding them. We will have the full inclusion ticket. I have a map of the fortress but no indication of audio guide location. Can you just go where you choose and stay in each room as long as you want? Are these audio guides to be used with our own device and earphone? Also, I read they are only for use in the “tower” - what rooms/exhibits are in there? Thanks so much for any help!

Please check the inclusions in the Salzburg card, the fortress and ride up to it are included if I remember correctly. You won't need to buy tickets. In any case, the queue was not long.
