Wow, what a beautiful masterpiece built as a museum in Prague. As you enter, you pay a minimal fee of $25 for two people on this date. I am not sure what the Koruna amount is. It will take you for… Full review by carlp432

The old building has been closed for quite some time and is due to reopen in 2018 according to their website, although one guide to Prague says 2020. The new building is open every day …

The old building has been closed for quite some time and is due to reopen in 2018 according to their website, although one guide to Prague says 2020. The new building is open every day 10.00 - 18.00 hrs showing exhibitions. The 1st Tuesday of every month the museum is closed but stays open until 20.00 hrs on the following day Wednesday. Currently their longtime exhibition is "Noahs Ark". Short time exhibitions are "Mazaryk as Phenomenon" (until 31 Jan 2018) and "Light and Life (until end of December).

You can store you bag & coats etc before you enter the main part of the museum. There is a little basket for a discretionary tip there. Enjoy!

We were told it will reopen in about 2 years and probably more, because "these re-modelings are never finished on time" according to a local.

Yes, the National Museum is closed for renovation, the new building is also closed, only a permanent exhibition is on display there, about death in different civilizations. It is expected that both building would be used to exhibit different aspects of Czech Republic's history, but we don't know when they'll open.
