We were disappointed by this. The trails were more like dirt roads, though one led to a decent beach. You don't feel as secluded b/c you're walking by people's houses just through some of the trees. … Full review by 14jkc

Once you park, how far in do you hike (a mile? Is it up hill? Are flip flops ok or do you need hiking shoes?)

There's many trails throughout the park. Hiking shoes aren't necessary. Keep a look out for stolen pocketbooks along the way - I still hope someone comes across mine sometime …
There's many trails throughout the park. Hiking shoes aren't necessary. Keep a look out for stolen pocketbooks along the way - I still hope someone comes across mine sometime soon. Be careful, as the thief(s) smashed our window. Took a lot of time away from vacation - I believe there's better places to hike along the lake. If you do go, be sure to take all valuables out of your car.
