Carr's River Cabin This circa 1904 two bedroom, two bath cabin is located on the Upper Sacramento River in Castella; 12 miles south of Mt Shasta and 4 miles south of Dunsmuir. The property has private access to this Blue Ribbon trout stream which is easy to get to and includes a beach area for sun bathing. This Castella vacation rental features a covered back porch with an expansive view of the river. From the porch, back yard, or river's edge, on any given morning or evening, you can view the area's abundant wildlife to include hatches, fish rising, osprey, heron, mink, ducks, deer and the occasional river otter. The large shaded back yard includes a picnic table, gas BBQ and lawn furniture. The cabin is clean and cozy. The living room has a rock fireplace for ambiance and additional heat and the master bath features a claw foot bathtub with a view of the river. There are plenty of books and games available to read or play. It also includes a new HDTV, Nintendo Gamecube console and dvd/vcr player.
