Kořenov is a municipality and village in Jablonec nad Nisou District in the Liberec Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 1,000 inhabitants. It lies in the Jizera Mountains. The village was probably named after the hill Kořenov. The name of the hill was derived either from the personal name Kořen or from the word kořen, i.e. 'root'. The German name Wurzelsdorf, meaning 'root village', was created by translation of the Czech name.
