High, high above the town, you can see why this was such a strategic stronghold over millennia. The views are outstanding, from the battlements and the cross. Entry fee €3.50 includes audio comment… Full review by P8994MSelizabethh

Opening hours are hit and miss anywhere in Spain! You can never guarantee a place will be open, even if the sign on the gate says 'open at 11am'! My recommendation would be …

Opening hours are hit and miss anywhere in Spain! You can never guarantee a place will be open, even if the sign on the gate says 'open at 11am'! My recommendation would be to go anyway, walk past the castle if closed, there are great views and after 200 metres you come to a giant white cross with spectacular views over the old city.
