A real treat to spent some time in this lovely garden. Best time a year would probable be in the spring when the azaleas are in bloom and in early August for the Lotus BlossomsFull review by Gerlinde G

This is an extraordinary garden, full of unusual plants that have been cleverly curated so that it’s as much a work of art as a garden. We opted for the self-guided tour but were approached several t…Full review by profpcr

Sorry it took me so long to answer your question. There are some benches along the way, but the tour moves steadily and there is a lot of standing. For time to time the docent will stop to discuss a particular section and there is not always a place to sit when this happens. Please remember that you will need to make a reservation to visit. It is not possible to just show up. Tours are Wed - Sat at 10 AM and 1:30 PM. FYI the County of Santa Barbara has all kinds of rules that we must follow. Thanks - look forward to seeing you in the garden.

GenXMommy above is exactly right and she's from Santa Barbara, so she certainly knows her stuff about this garden. All I can really tell you is that I am very happy that I paid a visit as it was the primary reason my wife and I went to SB.The garden (multiple different gardens really) is magnificent and the collateral benefit was that we also got to know a really great small coastal California city that we had never before visited.
