A flight attendant who was killed in the midair collision last week near the nation’s capital was remembered Wednesday for his devotion to family and passion for travel, as Ian Epstein's family and others start to hold memorials for loved ones who were among the 67 victims in the deadliest U.

Debi confirmed Ian was one of the crew members who died on American Eagle Flight 5342, which collided with a military helicopter in Washington over the Potomac River Wednesday night, killing 67 people.

Ian Epstein, a flight attendant who died last week in a mid-air collision between an American Airlines plane and a military helicopter, was honored at Charlotte Douglas International Airport Monday evening with a water cannon salute.
