A 'coast-to-coast' winter storm will impact Michigan. Areas along Lake Huron could see as much as 12 inches of snow — maybe more. Where it will fall.

Elsewhere in southern Michigan, a mix of snow and freezing drizzle could bring up to 2 inches of accumulation by 1 p.m. Saturday to Berrien, Cass, St. Joseph, Branch and Hillsdale counties. Van Buren, Kalamazoo, Calhoun and Jackson counties could all get up to 4 inches by 7 p.m.

In Southeast Michigan, the snow is expected to develop after 2 a.m. to 4 a.m. with light snow during Saturday. One to 3 inches of snow is expected through Saturday afternoon for most areas. A second round of more intense snow is possible late Saturday evening into Sunday bringing the potential for snow accumulation more than 6 inches.

The Las Vegas valley is expecting rain and even snow at higher elevations on Thursday, with a severe winter storm warning in effect until Friday afternoon for the Spring Mountains. Fifty miles off the north-east coast of Scotland, an armada of floating offshore wind turbines is about to make history.

In Royal Oak, the official snow total is 4.5 inches. Areas in southern zones, like Grosse Pointe Farms in Wayne County, was predicted to reach accumulations between 3 to 6 inches, and officially snow totaled 4 inches.
