The Lakers follow up their trade for Luka Dončić by adding talented young center Mark Williams from the Hornets.

Former Tennessee basketball player Dalton Knecht is involved in a NBA trade with the Lakers to Charlotte, Shams Charania of ESPN announced. "The Los Angeles Lakers are trading Dalton Knecht, Cam Reddish, a 2031 unprotected first-round pick and a 2030 pick swap to the Charlotte Hornets for center Mark Williams, sources tell ESPN," Charania said.

Dalton Knecht was picked No. 17 by the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2024 NBA Draft out of Tennessee, where he was the SEC Player of the Year.
