COLUMBUS COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) - Some customers living in Columbus County are under a boil water advisory due to a damaged water line. According to a press release, customers in the Waterfall Estates area may experience water quality issues. Staff are working to repair service after a local contractor plowed into one of the water lines.

Boil water advisories can happen because of water main breaks, equipment outages or planned maintenance or expansion. The intention is to make sure no one is drinking water out of the tap that might not be safe.
