Overnight Russian drone attacks sparked a fire in Kyiv and injured a woman and damaged several houses in the northeastern city of Sumy, Ukrainian officials said on Monday.

Moscow said on Friday that its forces had seized a handful of settlements in Donetsk since the start of the month.

Russia says it has captured the key mining town of Toretsk in eastern Ukraine after months of fighting. Ukraine has already lost the output from a crucial coal mine in the area – the only one producing coking coal for its steel industry.
