Krewe of Barkus and Meoux ready for annual pet parade
SHREVEPORT, La. - The Krewe of Barkus and Meoux Pet Parade rolls this Sunday. Hundreds of people of all ages will show up with their furry friends to participate and enjoy the annual parade. Pets will be dressed from head to paw with creative costumes and carried in floats that roll along a parade route at the Louisiana State Fairgrounds.

Carnival season kicked off on January 6, and Krewe of Barkus is set to roll through the French Quarter in New Orleans on Sunday, Feb. 23 at 2 p.m. The Mystic Krewe of Barkus ushers in the 2025 Mardi Gras season with a nod to canine couture in the theme: "Vanity Fur: Barkus Rules the Runway.
