Nvidia stock rose early Wednesday after President Donald Trump sent another signal to markets that artificial intelligence would be a priority under his new administration. The absence of Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang at the inauguration Monday stuck out as Big Tech CEOs thronged to the event.

On Tuesday afternoon, President Donald Trump held a press conference to announce Stargate, a $500 billion artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure project in the United States. He called it the "largest AI infrastructure project, by far, in history."

Under the Trump administration, OpenAI and other members of the tech sector are making a push to establish AI dominance in the U.S.

Stargate identified NVIDIA NVDA, Microsoft MSFT, and British chip designer Arm (ARM) as "key initial technology partners" to build U.S.-based data centers to power artificial intelligence advancements. OpenAI revealed that $100 billion would be deployed immediately, with up to $500 billion invested over the next four years.

SoftBank, OpenAI and Oracle Corp have announced the creation of a joint company called 'Stargate', which they say will invest $500 billion over the next four years in AI.
