Storm Éowyn slams Ireland, parts of U.K. with record winds
Met Éireann, the Republic of Ireland's national meteorological service, said that the country had faced wind gusts of 114mph in County Galway– the highest recorded wind speeds ever recorded on the island.

Hurricane-force winds as Storm Éowyn hits NI
The storm is set to bring severe winds of up to 100mph along some coastal areas, while gusts of up to 90mph could affect inland areas, bringing dangerous conditions. Any clean-up operation from the storm could also be hampered this weekend with a further wind warning issued by the Met Office for Sunday.

Storm Éowyn's highest wind speed in England has been recorded in Northumberland, the Met Office has confirmed. 96mph winds were recorded at Brizlee Wood, a military base to the west of Alnwick. It is the same place that wind speeds of 98mph were recorded during Storm Arwen three-and-a-half years ago.
