Paul Martin's office put out a report Monday detailing the negative impact of the Trump administration’s push for drastic cuts at the agency.

Paul Martin is one of around 20 inspectors general the administration has pushed out despite objections from lawmakers who say the firing methods violate statutes.

USAID Inspector General Paul Martin was told Tuesday he was immediately terminated from his position, CNN reported, citing an unnamed source familiar with the matter. Martin published a report Monday saying the Trump administration’s targeting of USAID’s staff and foreign assistance resources made it harder to respond to allegations of misused humanitarian assistance and hindered USAID’s ability to vet aid recipients for potential terrorist ties.
