The more known faces tend to get higher quality co-stars, better written conceits and scripts and the lower tier goes to lesser known individuals on the brand to fill the network’s mad Countdown to Christmas quota.

As of January 21st, the Taron Egerton starring, Jaume Collet-Serra directed action thriller is the third most popular English-language film for Netflix of all time with 160.

However, less than two months ago, live events on Netflix were on shaky foundations. The highly anticipated Mike Tyson and Jake Paul boxing match on November 15, 2024, was lambasted for its technical issues, which turned the match into a pixelated mess with choppy sound quality for many viewers.

The letter did not immediately outline the new pricing and, as of Tuesday evening, Netflix’s website was still showing prices set during the last increase in November 2023: $6.99 a month for standard with ads, $15.49 per month for standard, and $22.99 for premium.

Netflix will also try to stop password sharing. Subscribers can add extra members to their accounts for a fee that is less than a new subscription. Adding someone to a standard ad-free plan will increase to $8.99, while the charge for extra members on a plan with commercials will remain the same.
