There is "strong sentiment" for the New York Giants to make a major change regarding offensive coordinator Mike Kafka.

If New York Giants OC Mike Kafka lands the Saints head coaching job, he is expected to bring in Wink Martindale as his defensive coordinator.

Kafka completed an in-person interview with the Saints last Saturday, his second with the team. Soon after that, he left to begin his duties coaching the National team in the Senior Bowl this week.

The New York Giants will send Mike Kafka and Joel Thomas to the 2025 Senior Bowl with Kafka serving as head coach of the National Team.

As New Orleans whittles down its list of candidates for the 19th head coach in franchise history, the Giants’ offensive coordinator has emerged as a leading contender.

Kafka, who played quarterback at St. Rita and Northwestern, has interviewed for eight head-coaching positions in the last three hiring cycles.

According to Jordan Raanan of ESPN, Kafka is expected to bring former Giants defensive coordinator Wink Martindale with him to New Orleans in the same role. Martindale spent two seasons with the Giants as the defensive coordinator under head coach Brian Daboll before the former's fiery and extremely public exit during the 2024 offseason.
