Blizzard has announced that Diablo 4 's second expansion after Vessel of Hatred will launch sometime in 2026. As reported by Bloomberg's Jason Schreier, Diablo franchise general manager Rod Fergusson took to the stage at DICE Las Vegas to reveal the official release window for Diablo 4's next expansion, which appears to still be untitled.

If you were hoping for a new Diablo 4 expansion in 2025, you're unfortunately going to be waiting just a bit longer. According to Diablo general manager Rod Fergusson, we won't see the next major Diablo 4 expansion until 2026.

The next Diablo 4 expansion won’t be out in 2025, in spite of the studio’s previous comments about releasing them annually. Speaking at the DICE Summit in Las Vegas (via Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier ), Diablo general manager Rod Fergusson said the follow-up to 2024’s Vessel of Hatred expansion won’t be out until 2026.

Diablo 4 might need to correct its issues and prevent the pitfalls that made its other expansion, Vessel of Hatred disappointing to play through.

This announcement may come as a surprise to many Diablo 4 fans, who have speculated whether the rumored multiple expansions would follow an annual release schedule. Following the launch of Diablo 4 in June 2024, the first expansion, Vessel of Hatred, was unveiled at BlizzCon 2023 and released in October 2024.
