The Yankees have finally amended their policy to allow "well-groomed beards" ... but it's far too late for the hairstyles of these players.

After nearly 50 years, the Yankees have amended their longstanding facial hair policy to allow "well-groomed beards." The original policy, for Yankees players to be clean-shaven, was implemented by owner George Steinbrenner in the 1970s.

Now, a player in pinstripes will be allowed the latitude to grow something similar, ginger or no ginger. Likely it will begin with new Yankees closer Devin Williams, who reported for his spring training physical with the beard he’d worn for six years with the Milwaukee Brewers. He shaved it within 24 hours.
