Volunteers throughout Maryland gave back to their communities to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on Monday. About 40 volunteers from Arts for Learning and CareFirst did their service at Baltimore's Thomas Jefferson Elementary/Middle School for the annual Dr.

Here are a list of events that honor civil rights icon Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and his legacy, in and around Baltimore.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Inauguration Day fall on the same Monday this year. In addition to holiday closures, there will be additional schedule changes to services across the D.C. area.
