A Russian strike on a residential building in central Ukraine killed at least 14 people, including two children, emergency services said, one of many attacks across the country this weekend.

At least 14 Ukrainians died, including two children, and 17 others injured in a Russian strike on a residential building, Ukraine's nation's emergency services reported.

The Ukrainian army said four people were killed and dozens - many of them elderly - were injured in the town of Sudzha in the Kursk region, which has been under Ukrainian control for five months. More than 80 people are reported to have been rescued from the building.

Kyiv and Moscow traded blame Sunday for a strike on a school in a Ukrainian-occupied town in Russia's Kursk region, as Washington urged both sides to make compromises to end
