The fourth-ranked Gophers men's hockey team completed a series sweep of border rival No. 17 Wisconsin with a 4-1 victory Saturday night in front of a record crowd of 10,894 at 3M Arena at Mariucci in Minneapolis. The 10,984 fans in attendance at Mariucci Saturday set a single-game attendance record for the program in 30-plus years at the venue.

Those efforts, and a little help from their friends, spelled Minnesota’s for season sweep over their arch-rivals from America’s Dairyland for the first time since the 2002-03 season.

In front of the largest crowd in 3M Arena at Mariucci history, the fourth-ranked Golden Gophers scored four times in the third period to win, 4-1 and finish off a series sweep of No. 17/18 Wisconsin in Big Ten Conference men’s hockey action Saturday evening.
