Philippine Vice President Sara Duterte has been impeached by lawmakers after a vote in the House of Representatives, paving the way for a Senate trial that could see her removed from office.

The impeachment complaint, the latest of at least four the daughter of former President Rodrigo Duterte has faced, was transmitted to the Senate for trial.

The Philippine House of Representatives has impeached Vice President Sara Duterte on charges of corruption, abuse of power, and making death threats against President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Romualdez Marcos Jr.
