One Wisconsin lawmaker says the law is clear, and Milwaukee Public Schools are clearly violating it. But it's much less clear whether a Milwaukee judge can force the city’s school district to bring police officers back into school buildings.

As advocates against police presence in Milwaukee schools continue to speak out, the district is over a year late on a state requirement to add them.

Milwaukee Public Schools have been out of compliance with a state law requiring them to have 25 officers in schools.
