To no surprise, Ichiro Suzuki headlined the class with the most votes of any player this year. The 2001 AL Rookie of the Year and MVP was a 10-time MLB All-Star before he retired in 2019. Earlier this month, he also became the first MLB player to enter the Japanese Baseball Hall of Fame.

The Hall of Fame voter who declined to select Ichiro Suzuki remains a mystery. All 321 voters who allowed their ballots to be made public Tuesday by the Baseball Writers’ Association of America selected the Japanese star.

No one has ever walked through these doors with the sport-changing, Hall-changing, planet-changing possibilities of Ichiro.

A total of 394 voters submitted their ballots. Of those, 321 were made public Tuesday. But the Ichiro dissenter's ballot wasn't one of them.
