Will Ferrell had some fun jokingly taking the Academy to task for not nominating his documentary Will & Harper when he appeared on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert on Wednesday.

Although Will & Harper won plenty of hearts, it failed to secure an Oscar nomination. Following the success of his and fellow SNL alum Harper Steele‘s Netflix documentary, Will Ferrell jokingly called out The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences for snubbing their film.

Will Ferrell gave the proverbial middle finger to the Oscars. The “Anchorman” actor, 57, joked about the Academy snubbing his inspiring documentary, “Will & Harper,” from the 2025 nominations list. “Ask me if we got Oscar-nominated,” Ferrell said to Stephen Colbert on a recent episode of “The Late Show.”

While Will & Harper was shortlisted for the Oscars, the final nominees were Black Box Diaries, No Other Land, Porcelain War, Soundtrack to a Coup d'Etat, and Sugarcane. The 97th Academy Awards air Sunday, March 2 on ABC.
