Chevrolet is bringing a first for the Daytona 500 with its Blazer EV SS as the first electric vehicle to lead the famous NASCAR race to the green flag.

Like the Ford, and like NASCAR's unbranded prototype, the three-motor setup makes the Blazer EV.R all-wheel drive. Those motors draw from a 78-kWh liquid-cooled battery, which is stored inside a modified Next Gen chassis. The car's suspension is also taken from that car, another common feature with the other two demonstrators.

Chevrolet unveiled its Blazer EV.R NASCAR prototype to the world wide interwebs just before the racing season ramps up for the Daytona 500 this weekend. Chevrolet shared the Blazer EV.R SUV stating that it is an example of the company “continuing to test,
