The NWS extends a Cold Weather Advisory for the region including parts of Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, and southeast Pennsylvania.

A Cold Weather Advisory remains in effect until 11 a.m. Wednesday for Washington, D.C., and portions of Maryland, and northern Virginia.

The National Weather Service has put out a flurry of advisories due to the cold and potential for snow in Virginia.

Most of the state is under a cold weather advisory, with the far western edges of the state under an extreme cold warning from the National Weather Service.

Very cold wind chills around zero to five below for most of the WJZ viewing area. Areas with highest impact will be Central, Northeast & Northern Maryland... along with the District of Columbia and into Northern Virginia.

The WJZ First Alert Weather Team has issued First Alert Weather Days for dangerous cold and bitter & brutal wind chills now through Thursday morning.

There’s a chance of snow this weekend before temperatures are expected to drop to the single digits next week due to a blast of arctic air.
