Burnley midfielder Hannibal Mejbri has said he suffered "disgusting abuse" in a Championship match on Saturday amid an investigation into an alleged racist comment from Preston North End's Milutin Osmajic.

Both Preston North End and Burnley have published club statements in the aftermath of Saturday’s goalless draw at Deepdale.

Burnley midfielder Hannibal Mejbri says he was the subject of alleged racist abuse during the side’s Championship clash with Preston. The Deepdale contest ended goalless after 90 minutes but a heated clash at the start of the second half, involving Mejbri and Preston’s Milutin Osmajic, has threatened to overshadow the match.
