(WJAR) — The Boston Red Sox celebrated Truck Day on Monday, marking the unofficial start of spring training. The equipment truck was loaded with baseball equipment and supplies starting at 7 a.m.

As anticipation builds, so does some frustration for Red Sox fans, as most of the key moves came in December. Since then, the club has been mostly silent.

The celebration of Truck Day has been a Red Sox tradition since 2003, signaling the unofficial start of Spring Training.

Truck Day is one of those “only in Boston” photo ops, much like Allston Christmas, the L Street Brownies swimming in the ocean on New Year’s, and U-Hauls getting “Storrowed.”
