The Red Raiders were short-handed as standout forward Darrion Williams was ruled out just before tip-off. But even without their third-leading scorer and second-leading rebounder, Texas Tech (16-4, 7-2) had more than enough offense to pull away from TCU (10-10, 3-6) in the second half.

Brendan Wenzel is TCU's only player shooting above 34% from 3-point range. He doesn't score too often (8.7 points per game) and is only 1-of-12 from deep in his last two games, he's one Texas Tech can't afford to let get hot. Wenzel also transferred to TCU after Jeff Linder left Wyoming to be an assistant at Tech.

The Red Raiders won their fifth consecutive game in what is their best start in conference since 2004-05, when Bob Knight was the coach.

TCU did just enough to catch Texas Tech's attention on Wednesday. Once the 22nd-ranked Red Raiders got their wake-up call, however, they settled back in as one of the hottest teams in the Big 12 Conference.
