Aug 29, 2018 · Despite being an old aluminum engine, the 944 Turbo mill is really tough. The part about putting a 1J or 2J in a 944 that makes me scratch my head a bit is the weight. That big six is a HEAVY engine. A 2JZ GTE is almost 600lbs. The naturally aspirated 944 engine is like 350, and the Turbo is like 425lbs. Good luck though dude.
