Apr 1, 2016 · In 1966, television viewers were treated to the first night of programming from South Australia's first regional commercial station, SES-8 at Mount Gambier.

SES/RTS, part of the WIN Television network, are Australian television stations licensed to, and serving the rural south-east portion of South Australia, including Mount Gambier, the Limestone Coast and the Riverland. The network began as two separate stations, SES-8 and RTS-5A.

SES8 Mount Gambier and GTS4 Port Pirie in South Australian regions lose local flavour to national TV GTS4, based at Port Pirie, with relay stations at at Whyalla and Port Lincoln (see inset logo from the 1970s) gradually lost became part of national media networks.
